The EMA is urging everyone to exercise extreme caution. As a result of piles of snow and sheets of ice, Middle Georgians stayed indoors on Monday while most businesses and schools closed.
City and county officials met this afternoon to discuss the potential dangers of the weather and a plan moving forward. Georgia Power says they’re prepared for inclimate weather.
Georgia Power representative Audrey King says, “There’s no way to guarantee that the outages won’t happen but we have our manpower staffed in the event that anything should arise.”
EMA Director Mark Wynn also stated that public works will continue to condition bridges and overpasses, but warned the roads could still be dangerous.

Macon Police will continue to be on patrol as will the Bibb County Sheriff’s Investigators.
