They haven’t necessarily been coming out in droves, but early voters have been consistently filling out their ballots leading up to Tuesday’s election.
The Macon Bibb County Board of Elections Supervisor Elaine Carr says there have been more voters so far, than there were at this same time in the elections four years ago.
When 41 NBC News spoke with Carr Thursday just before noon, more than 3,600 voters had already cast their ballot.
Carr estimates total voter turnout will be between 42% and 43%.
Early voting ends Friday at 5:30 p.m. at the Macon, Bibb County Board of Elections office on Pio Nono Avenue.
Polls will open Tuesday at 7:30 a.m.
