FORSYTH, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputy was injured after he was hit by a car on I-75 Sunday.
According to the sheriff’s office, Deputy T. Campfield was assisting the Forsyth Police Department at the scene of an accident near mile marker 185 southbound on I-75 shortly after midnight. He was directing traffic near that accident scene, when he a vehicle struck him and his patrol car.
Campfield was taken to the Medical Center of Central Georgia with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the vehicle that struck the deputy was taken to Coliseum Hospital for treatment.
Georgia State Patrol is investigating the accident.
