MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – After Mercer’s success in the NCAA tournament, head men’s basketball coach Bob Hoffman is getting interest from several different schools across the country.

Wednesday, the school’s sports information department confirmed Hoffman interviewed for the head coaching job at the University of South Florida earlier this week, and that he’s received interest from other schools as well.

41NBC tried reaching out to Hoffman, who took the job at Mercer in 2008, but he offered no comment.

The Mercer Bears went 27-9 this year, winning the Atlantic Sun Conference tournament and advancing to the school’s first NCAA tournament since 1985.

The Bears upset Duke in the second round before falling to Tennessee in the Round of 32.
