If the Georgia voters decide to send Dr. Price up to Atlanta this time around to represent district 18, Price tells 41NBC health care will be his main focus. As a doctor himself, he says he knows what needs to be done to reform the system.
Price says he’s in full support of Governor Deal’s decision not to expand medicaid. Instead, Price believes people need more education on where to go for their ailments. He says too often he sees patients in the emergency room with non-emergencies.
Price also believes in local control of education. He’s not a fan of the common core, adding, the federal government doesn’t need to tell educators how to teach our children.
In his 2012 run for senate, Price gained media attention for several personal finance issues that were brought to light during his campaign. In his interview with 41NBC this time around, he says a lot of what happened was a misunderstanding and that his personal finances are in order.
