FPD, Veterans girls soccer advance to state

PERRY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Veterans was looking to avenge last year’s 1-0 loss to Columbus in the GHSA AAAA semifinals Wednesday night.

The girls delivered, beating Columbus 1-0 on a soggy field at Perry’s Herb St. John Stadium.  Shelby King’s goal at the 62-minute mark was all the Warhawks needed.

The game was delayed nearly an hour due to lightning.

Veterans plays in the Class AAAA state title game Saturday at noon at Kennesaw State.
