Kingston asks for more voters to head to the polls

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Congressman Jack Kingston stopped in Macon Monday to greet supporters and to urge them to head to the polls.

He and former opponent Karen Handel talked about it is for residents to vote in the primary runoff, which historically receives a small turnout.

Kingston believes he’s the man for the job, especially when it comes to representing those in the armed forces in middle Georgia.

"Georgia has always had a tradition of having a senator who knows military policy, and out of the three candidates left standing, I am that candidate," Kingston said.

He says he anticipates another round of BRAC and wants to be on the senate’s armed services committee to help deal with some of the challenges bases might face.
