UPDATE: Two suspects now in custody after BP armed robbery

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – As of Friday morning, Bibb Sheriff’s investigators have now identified and arrested a third of the four suspects in connection with the BP gas station armed robbery Wednesday morning.

20-year-old Tyler Dalton Sawyer of Macon was arrested around 7 p.m. Thursday evening.

He is currently being held without bond for armed robbery at the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center.

Bibb Sheriff’s Investigators had arrested one suspect in connection with the armed robbery incident that took place at the BP gas station, located at 4739 Houston Road, Wednesday morning.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, 24-year-old, Joseph Erik Clance was taken into custody on armed robbery charges after investigators received information that two of the suspects were at the Day’s Inn off of Jeffersonville Road in east Macon.

When investigators arrived at the motel, one of the suspects fled and Clance was taken into custody.

A search warrant of the room was served and investigators recovered Lottery Tickets, Tobacco products, a 9mm handgun, cell phones, marijuana, several pills in a plastic bag, and more than $300 in cash.

Clance also has an unrelated charge from a State Court Bench warrant, according to the press release.

Clance is currently being held in the Bibb County Law Enforcement Center without bond.

Randy "Judd" Dewayne Barnett Jr., age 18 of Macon, fled from the motel.

Additional warrants will be issued for his arrest.

Officials say he was last seen wearing "acid washed" blue jeans and white tennis shoes. He did not have a shirt on as he fled the motel area.

Investigators are following leads to identify and locate Barnett and the fourth suspect.
