Oconee Drug Task Force arrests Eastman police officer


EASTMAN, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – An Eastman police officer is in trouble with the law.

Oconee Judicial Circuit District Attorney Timothy Vaughn tells 41NBC Jason Park was arrested on August 21st. He is charged with attempt to violate the Georgia Control Substance Act, violation of oath of office, and illegal use of a communication device.

Vaughn would not tell us what lead to Park’s arrest.

Park was released from the Dodge County jail on a $10,000 last month.

The Oconee Drug Task Force is leading the investigation.

The drug task force and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office would not release any information about the arrest. The Eastman Police Chief has not returned our calls.

A grand jury is scheduled to hear Park’s case on Monday.
