Crews and volunteers were briefed Tuesday morning from the National Weather Service about the strong storms in the area. EMA Director Don Druitt says emergency teams will be on standby throughout the night even though most of his crew is leaving for the holidays.
"We also have our radio, volunteer radio, communications folks and our amateur radio folks who actually monitor the ‘net, and they’re on the chat with the National Weather Service so we can stay abreast with any of the developments that come out of Peachtree City," Druitt said.
Druitt tells 41NBC he’s working with public safety officials on making sure roadways are clear throughout the storm, especially with high volume of travelers hitting the road.
