McCarthy says Rodgers improving, Pack starts prep for Dallas

GREEN BAY, Wis. (AP) – Rested from a bye week, the Green Bay Packers can finally devote their attention to preparing for the Dallas Cowboys in the next round of the playoffs.
Coach Mike McCarthy said Aaron Rodgers is improving  after getting a break from a couple days of light practice last week.
Rodgers is recovering from a lingering left calf injury. McCarthy said Rodgers will be re-evaluated  Wednesday to determine the practice plan for him the rest of the week, though there doesn’t seem too much concern on the team  whether the franchise quarterback will ready for Sunday’s showdown with Dallas.
On the other side of the ball, the Packers’ improving run defense faces a stern test trying to stop NFL leading rusher DeMarco Murray.
