Two men arrested in Macon convenience store armed robbery

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Two Macon men are facing charges after Bibb sheriff’s deputies say they robbed a convenience store Tuesday morning.

According to the sheriff’s office, two male suspects entered the the Citgo Gas & Food Mart on Pio Nono Avenue around 8:30 a.m. They stole beer and food before leaving the store. Authorities say the clerk tried to stop them and one suspect pointed a gun at the clerk.

Deputies say the two suspects were seen running into a home on Daffodil Street. Authorities found items, including the weapon, that was used in the robbery.

The suspects, 18-year-old Willie Johnson III and 22-year-old Larry Donnell Clay Jr., were found in a home on Poppy Avenue. Deputies also found stolen items from the store.

Johnson and Clay are charged with armed robbery. No bond has been set.
