Ohio State turns it over four times, still beats Oregon by 22

ARLINGTON, Texas (41NBC/WMGT) – Not many gave Ohio State a chance, but it wasn’t listening.

The Buckeyes outscored Oregon 42-13 after falling behind 7-0 to win 42-20 and claim the school’s eighth football title.

Tailback Ezekiel Elliott rushed for 246 yards on 36 carries and Cardale Jones (the team’s third string quarterback who was making his third career start) completed 16 of his 23 passes for 242 yards and a touchdown. He also threw one interception.

The Buckeyes fumbled it away three times.

For Oregon, Heisman Trophy winner Marcus Mariota completed 24 of 37 passes for 333 yards. He had two touchdown passes with one interception.
