Wood: Braves ‘starting to get that itch’

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Academy Sports and Outdoors store in Warner Robins was packed with Braves fans Tuesday.

They were there to see a few members of their favorite team.

Pitchers Alex Wood, David Hale and Josh Outman, along with outfielder Todd Cunningham were in town meeting fans and signing autographs on the first stop of the 2015 Braves Caravan.

Wood says the guys left over after an offseason of trades are starting to get that itch again. They report to spring training next month.

"That’s really the fun thing about baseball," Wood says. "Until you get your group together–I mean, there’s really no other team sport like baseball–so until you get your team together, see how everybody meshes together, that’s the biggest thing."

Wood says the guys visited Whistle Stop Cafe in Juliette on the way down. When asked if he tried the restaurant’s famous Fried Green Tomatoes, he said he had "a little bit of everything."
