Macon-Bibb commissioners reach tentative agreement to close Wings Cafe

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon-Bibb Commissioners and the owner of Wings Cafe have come to a tentative agreement to close the nightclub for 24 months.

Commissioners Virgil Watkins and Al Tillman announced Wednesday morning that owner Tom Kim had agreed in principle to the closure. The agreement would allow both parties to avoid going to court.

Family members and friends held signs supporting the victims at the news conference held at the Macon-Bibb Government Center. Commissioner Watkins said it highlights the need for club owners to pay attention to security.

The agreement does not prevent Kim from owning other commercial property in Macon-Bibb.

This comes after the December 12th shooting at the nightclub on Bloomfield Road in Macon.

Five men are charged with the murder. Three people were killed during the shooting.
