GC softball’s Coursey takes home PBC Freshman of the Week

AUGUSTA, Ga. (GC ATHLETICS) – Freshman Hannah Coursey (Sugar Hill) of the Georgia College softball team (35-5, 12-2 PBC) has been named the Peach Belt Conference (PBC) AstroTurf Freshman of the Week for the week of March 30-April 5.

Hannah Coursey helped the Bobcats to a 1-1 week, going 3-for-6 in the doubleheader split at the University of Montevallo. The freshman added an RBI and a run scored in the twinbill, while also walking once. She was also perfect in the field at shortstop.

This is the second week in a row a Bobcat softball player was named Freshman of the Week, as Hannah’s twin sister Holland Coursey (Sugar Hill) took home the honor last week. All-time, the Bobcats have posted 11 PBC Freshman of the Week honors.

The Bobcats are back in action Tuesday, April 7 when they host No. 8 University of North Georgia at the Peeler Complex. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
