Middle Georgia Regional Airport to get necessary upgrades

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Macon-Bibb commissioners approved an agreement with the Georgia Department of Transportation to spend almost $95,000 in improvements at the Middle Georgia Regional Airport.

The resolution states the money will be used to fix the airport’s apron, or the parking lot for planes, and taxiway crack seal work. The upgrades are necessary to keep up with federal regulations.

The project will cost more than $2 million in federal, state, and local funding.

The airport’s manager tells 41NBC News
the project should be completed by the end of the year.
