He claims about 75 people complained to him about the police’s ticketing process. They say the officers are running radar next to a reduction in speed sign which doesn’t give them enough time to slow down. Sheriff Chris Steverson says almost all of the tickets are more than $300.
"Anytime we have complaints of improper, illegal activity especially by someone who carries a badge, we’re going to put all of our resources into finding out what’s going on," explained Sheriff Steverson.
Sheriff Steverson plans to send the complaints to the Georgia State Patrol Headquarters and the Peach Officer Standards and Training Council.
