JEFFERSONVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A Bonaire man is dead after a car accident in Twiggs County.

Twiggs County Coroner Harold Reece says 30 year-old Nathan Adams was driving down Highway 96 before the Ocmulgee River when the car ran off the road and hit a tree. Reece believes Adams fell asleep while driving.

The vehicle was found around 2:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon. Reece thinks the accident happened early Sunday morning.

Reece pronounced Adams dead at the scene because of blunt force trauma to the head.
