Athletic director Greg McGarity announced Monday Wayne Norton is done as the school’s head coach, according to a school release.
"We appreciate Wayne’s efforts both as an assistant coach and as a head coach at Georgia over the last 25 years," McGarity said. "We wish him the best of luck with all of his future plans."
Norton came to UGA as an assistant in 1990 and held that role until taking over the men and women’s track and cross country teams in 2000.
His teams have finished in the top 20 nationally 29 times. Georgia won the women’s SEC indoor and outdoor team titles in 2006.
