Howard suffered two set backs to start last season, a tie with Lamar County in a game they lead, and an overtime loss against FPD. After gaining a foothold during the middle of their schedule, the Huskies couldn’t hang on and ended up dropping the last four games of the year.
Last season’s offense only scored 18.1 points per game, but will be returning quarterback Courvosier King, and wide receivers Kendall Ragin and Alfonso Stephens.
Despite an underwhelming point total, Coach Hester believes as long as they can keep the ball out of the end zone, they’ll still be able to win ballgames. They’ll be returning DT Tajae Lockett and LB Sean Walker.
The first game for the Huskies will be on August 21st versus Lamar County.
