Houston County Gang Task Force hosts awareness meeting

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Dozens of people met in Warner Robins Tuesday night for the Gang Violence Prevention and Awareness meeting.

The organizer says the goal is to educate everyone both young and old about what to look for when it comes to gang activity. The special speakers also talked about what to do if you’re stopped by a law enforcement officer.

"With all of situations going on across America and the world today, we felt that its good that our community be safe, number one, and then that we educate them and let them know what’s going on in our community,” Jerome Stephens, the chairman of the Houston County Gang Task Force said.

This is the 19th year the Houston County Gang Task Force has hosted this meeting.
