Northside beats Jones County, Southwest gets first region win

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A pair of fourth quarter fumbles doomed Jones County Thursday at McConnell-Talbert Stadium.

The Greyhounds (3-1), who’d averaged 48 points per game coming in, were looking for their second straight win over Northside but ran out of gas in the final minutes, falling 36-22.

Jones County had the ball in 22-all game and fumbled it away. It didn’t take long for Northside (4-0) to score and go up 29-22.

The Hounds muffed the ensuing kickoff return and again the Eagles recovered. On their first play, they scored another touchdown to go up two scores.

Southwest gets first region win

It was all about the Slocum brothers Thursday at Macon’s Henderson Stadium.

The Jordan-to-Justin connection tallied three touchdowns in the Patriots 42-27 win over Jordan.

Southwest (2-2) led 42-13 before the Red Jackets added two late touchdowns.
