16-year-old Warner Robins boy pronounced ‘legally’ dead

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The 16-year-old Warner Robins teen shot Monday afternoon on Franklin Square was pronounced "legally" dead. 

Houston County coroner Danny Galpin tells 41NBC Ryan Skeen was taken off of life support and has been pronounced dead by doctors. 

13-year-old Kaden Barefoot is accused of shooting Skeen in the neck. The district attorney tells 41NBC, Barefoot is facing a felony murder charge. Officers still motive for the shooting.

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Warner Robins police arrested a 13-year-old in connection to a shooting of a teen that happened Wednesday afternoon. The name of the suspect is being withheld because he is a minor.

He is being held in the Crisp County Youth Detention Center. He’s charged with aggravated battery, aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by an underage person, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, and of prescription pills.



The motive behind the shooting is still under investigation.

The victim, 16-year-old Ryan Skeen is in the Intensive Care Unit at a local hospital.


WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A juvenile in Warner Robins is in critical condition after he was shot Monday afternoon.

According to the Warner Robins Police Department, officers responded to a call of shots fired on the 200 block of Franklin Square around 4:30 p.m. WPRD confirms a male juvenile was sent to a local hospital and is in critical condition. Officers say the suspect ran away from the scene.

WRPD could not release any other details about the victim.

Officers from the police department and the Houston County Sheriff’s Office canvassed the neighborhood and surrounding areas. They also used K9s during the search.

"It is still very early in our investigation and detectives are still interviewing witnesses," a WRPD news release stated.

WRPD says the suspect is a male teenager who was wearing a black hoodie. He’s described as 5’6" to 5’7" and weighs between 130 and 140 pounds. He was last seen leaving the scene on a black bicycle.
