Cottonmouths beat Mayhem for first win of season

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon Mayhem fell to rival Columbus Sunday in a game that was decided by a shootout.

It was the Cottonmouths’ first win of the season and first win against their rival after going 0-2 in their first two tries.

After a scoreless first period, Kyle Shapiro put Columbus (1-4-3) on the board early in the second period. Macon (2-4-3) answered with goals from Mark McGowan and Shawn Skelly to take the lead.

Early in the third, Chris Rial tied the game and it remained 2-2 until the end of regulation.
