Richt won’t coach UGA in bowl game

ATHENS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Mark Richt has coached his last football game for the University of Georgia.

The school announced in a release Richt will not coach the Bulldogs in their bowl game. He informed the team Thursday afternoon.

Bryan McClendon, who coaches wide receivers, has been named interim head coach. Offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer and defensive coordinator Jeremy Pruitt, along with the rest of the assistant coaches, will coach in the bowl game, according to the release.

Richt is expected to be named Miami’s new head coach in a news conference Friday at 10 a.m.
