Mayhem wins fifth straight, beats Knoxville 4-2

KNOXVILLE, Tennessee (41NBC/WMGT) – The Macon Mayhem scored four unanswered goals to beat Knoxville Tuesday and push their win streak to five straight games.

The streak is tied for the longest in the Southern Professional Hockey League this season and moves Macon past Knoxville into seventh place in the SPHL standings.

After going down 2-0 in the first period, Macon (9-10-3) tied the game in the second with power play goals from Nick Grasso and Joshua Ranalli. Ryan Michel’s third period power play goal gave the Mayhem the lead for good.

Matt Robertson padded Macon’s lead with an empty net goal with 47 seconds remaining.

Macon visits Fayetteville Thursday. Knoxville (8-14-3) hosts Mississippi Friday.
