Lamar County deputies found hazardous material in single car accident

 

BURNSVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Lamar County Sheriff’s Office made two arrests after a hazardous material was found in a car that was involved in a single car accident.

According to a news release, the accident happened around 6:25 a.m. Deputies say a car was traveling southbound on I-75, when the driver lost control hit a guardrail and came to a stop in the north bound lane.

The driver and passenger were checked out by emergency personnel. While deputies were investigating the scene they found hazardous material in the car that raised suspicions of a mobile meth lab.

The GBI HAZMAT and EOD were called to the scene and the area was placed under quarantine.

Deputies arrested Jeremy Fulgham and Dustin McMillan. They are both charged with manufacturing methamphetamine.

The accident is still under investigation.
