WALESKA, Georgia (MGA ATHLETICS – The Knights men’s team continued their winning ways with a 5th straight win over the Reinhardt University Eagles 92-80 on Monday night.  The team was led by Kieston Standfield (JR/Birmingham, AL) with 23 points and was one of 5 Knights scoring in double-digits to move the team to 13-5 on the season.  The team trailed by 4 at half and by as many as 12 in the first half with 10:57 to go in the 1st but were able to outscore the Eagles by 16 in the second half to win by 12 as their biggest lead of the night.

Standfield just missed another double-double pulling in 9 rebounds and picking up 3 assists and a steal.  David Bivins (SR/Warner Robins HS) was the second leading scorer with 15 points just missing a double-double as he grabbed 9 rebounds and dished out 6 assists and picked up 2 steals.  Cory Reid (JR/Decatur, GA) and Tevion Pope (FR/Douglas, GA) each put in 14 points while Reid hauled in 9 rebounds of his own to go with a block.  Marques Hinton (FR/Atlanta. GA) scored 12 points as the 5th in double-figures also dishing 3 assists and leading the team with 3 steals.

The Knights return to SSAC action Thursday the 11th, where they are 2nd in the conference at 10-3 behind 11-2 William Carey and 3 games ahead of a five-way tie for third.  The team travels to Brewton-Parker College Thursday with the women’s game starting at 5:30 PM and the men to follow then on Saturday the 13th head to Brunswick to take on Coastal Georgia with the women at 2:00 PM and the men to follow.

He moved back south to Troy, Alabama after high school, where he graduated from Troy University in 2011 with a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism. He interned in Huntsville at WAAY-TV before joining 41NBC.
