Three arrests made in Macon robbery investigation


MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Bibb County Sheriff’s deputies made three arrests in connection to a robbery.

According to a news release, 34-year-old Carlton Gilbert went to visit a female friend at the Cobble Hill Apartments on Rice Mill Road in Macon around 8 p.m. Sunday. When he arrived to the apartment he was approached by three males. Gilbert was then hit in the head with a metal pipe and robbed of his cellphone, key and wallet.

The suspects fled the scene in Gilbert’s car. The vehicle was spotted near Pio Nono Avenue. The suspects crashed after a car chase with deputies. The suspects attempted to run but were caught and placed into custody.

21-year-old Shanika Sanders, 21-year-old Jacorey Holloway, and 21-year-old Keaira Robinson were arrested and charged with robbery by force. Robinson was identified as the female Gilbert was going to visit.

Gilbert is listed in stable condition at a local hospital.
