MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Little league baseball players are excited to start their next season with new fields.
Macon-Bibb County celebrated the completion of the $300,000 SPLOST project Saturday morning.
Renovations include new sidewalks, a tee-ball field, concession stands and scoring boxes.
“It [means] a lot to the community. We’ve been waiting for a long time. Everybody is excited. We now have the resources to hold tournaments on this side of town,” said David Peck, the President of the East Macon Youth Baseball League.
Saturday was also the league’s Opening Day.
