Husband of Georgia prosecutor slain in car was Lyft driver

ATLANTA, Georgia (AP) – Atlanta police say they’re searching for clues in the work records of a slain Lyft driver who was married to an assistant Georgia attorney general.

Authorities say Shahriar Zolfaghari was shot in the upper torso at a stoplight in northeast Atlanta around 1 a.m. Wednesday. He was married to Camila Wright, an assistant attorney general who focuses on human trafficking cases.

Atlanta police Maj. Adam Lee III said at a news conference that investigators are trying to determine whether he’d picked up a passenger before the killing, and whether he had any other rides scheduled in the area.

Lee said police subpoenaed records from Lyft that were promptly turned over.

Police said there were no obvious signs of robbery, and a motive for the crime isn’t known.
