MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Some soon to be middle school students in Bibb County are getting a head start on their studies.
Howard Middle School is giving future students a glimpse into what next year will be like for them.
During the week long camp, students will study four core classes and learn every day skills like opening a locker.
“I hope that they feel they are more comfortable for the upcoming school year, less anxiety, and they can become role models for other students in the upcoming school year,” said Howard Middle School Assistant Principal Dr. Constance Winds.
This is the first year Howard Middle School is hosting this transition program.
Organizers hope to continue it in the future.
