COOLIDGE, Georgia (AP) – Authorities say two people have died in a house fire in south Georgia.
State fire investigators say firefighters were called to the double-wide mobile home in the Thomas County town of Coolidge shortly after 2 a.m. Monday.
Authorities say a husband and wife who lived at the residence both died as a result of the blaze. Officials identified them as Marvin and Dolly Patterson.
Glenn Allen, a spokesman for Georgia’s state fire marshal, said the fire does not appear to be suspicious.
Autopsies are planned on both bodies.
Allen says there have now been 75 fire deaths in Georgia this year.
Coolidge is about 45 miles northeast of Tallahassee, Florida.
