FORT VALLEY, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – If you need to brush up on your ice skating skills, Fort Valley is the place to be.
“It’s more of a hometown pride,” said Tisa Horton with the the Austin Theatre Enrichment Arts Alliance.
The Austin Theatre Enrichment Arts Alliance takes prides in their city, so they wanted to host Winter Wonderland.
“It’s been busy since 7 a.m,” said Horton.
Horton worked all day Friday to prepare, as the different attractions filled the park.
“The guys came out here at 8 and they’re still moving around,” said Horton.
The weather is right–nice and cold here in Middle Georgia–for a festival that should be a lot of fun this weekend.
“We have a maze so they have a chance to go in and find their way out and we have a life sized snow globe where they can take pictures with Santa between the hours of 2 p.m. and 6 p.m. so you can get around roughly 8 people in there to take pictures with Santa,” said Horton.
There will be a lot of music as well at the Fort Valley Festival Park.
“Saturday and Sunday we have one of our hometown new artists, hip-hop artists he’s Nata Eleanor, and we also have Kaleigh Coursen and Josh Coursen they’re going to be out,” said Horton. “And Toni Broxton she’s going to be here with her students.”
It should be a big festival with a big heart.
