MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – You may noticed something different in Third Street Park, if you look up.
An American Flag now flies high, thanks to the the Cherry Blossom Festival and Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful Commission.
The two organizations noticed there was not a flag on the flag pole and decided to change it.
Pam Carswell, the President & CEO of Keep Macon-Bibb Beautiful Commission, said it was important to get a flag because of what it stood for.
“It’s a symbol of our freedom and our independence. It’s a reminder of what we stand for in our country and we wanted it to be here, in the center of our community,” Carswell said.
She said the flag adds beauty to downtown.
