DANVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A homicide investigation is underway after a woman’s body was found lying on a Twiggs County road Monday afternoon.
According to the Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office, Lauren Jones, of Jeffersonville was stabbed several times in the torso. Her body was found around 1:30 p.m. in the intersection of Gallimore Road and Jack Clay Road. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Jones is around 35-years-old.
Investigators say Jones’ death could be drug related because they found a substance that looked like methamphetamine at the scene. The Twiggs County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia Bureau of Investigation believe more than one person was involved in Jones’ killing. Investigators don’t know if the place Jones’ body was found was the place she was killed.
