WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Flint Energies is telling many of its customers around Houston County that they could be without power for several days.
As of noon on Tuesday, around 5,000 Houston County residents who use Flint were still without electricity. Overnight Monday, Flint workers restored power to about 15,000 people.
It’s been difficult for power to be restored to all Flint customers across the region because Tropical Storm Irma destroyed about 35 percent of Flint’s electric facilities and equipment. That’s according to Marian McLemore, VP of Cooperative Communications at Flint Energies. It takes about four hours for one electric pole to be fixed.
