Warner Robins Police meets with public for ‘Coffee with a Cop Day’

WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC) -Warner Robins residents sat down and talked over a cup of joe Wednesday morning with Warner Robins Police.

It’s all part of National Coffee with a Cop Day. Police met with residents at Chic Fil A on Watson Boulevard. The initiative helps the public build relationships and trust with officers and understand they’re just like a regular person.

The conversations including news tips and suggestions, help officers better serve and protect the people in the community.

Assistant Police Chief John Wagner says, “We’ve learned different things from people. They’ll come in from the neighborhood and say hey in our neighborhood, we had XYZ going on and this is the house you need to look for or hey I don’t really want to tell you now but can you give me your number and I’ll call you later?”

Three or four times out of the year, officers meet up with the public at various locations in Warner Robins to address any issues or concerns.
