MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Slovakia’s Anna Karolina Schmiedlova is the 2017 W.L. Amos Sr. Tennis Classic singles champion.
Schmiedlova fell behind American Victoria Duval four games to none before winning ten straight games to take the title in cold and windy conditions Sunday at Mercer’s Leroy Peddy Tennis Center.
Former USC duo Kaitlyn Christian and Sabrina Santamaria won the doubles finals over former North Carolina player Sanaz Marand and Brazil’s Paula Cristina Goncalves.
The classic is now in its fifth year. This is the first year it’s been a USTA Pro Circuit 80k event.
