WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – 78th Air Base Wing Commander Colonel Lyle Drew has been on the job for 100 days.
He says he has plans that will definitely bring the community together.
“Regardless who the elected officials are in the community. It’s that we continue the strong relationships that we’ve built over time,”Colonel Drew says.
Building relationships and providing job opportunities to those living in the community are two things at the top of his list.
Drew says, “Civilian hiring is a huge goal for me. Right now we’re hiring about 550. These jobs range from everything from engineering jobs, to aircraft mechanics, and aircraft painters.”
The interaction, communication, and consistency in providing opportunities to grow is what’s in store under Colonel Drew’s command.
“I’ve spent a lot of time with our local mayors to understand what their challenges are, how we can team better together to accomplish the missions that not only take our individual organizations to do but together what we can do to work a whole lot better together,” he adds.
Colonel Drew assumed command on July 27, 2017. He manages facilities and equipment valued at over 8 billion dollars.
