One person dead, one injured in Milledgeville shooting

MILLEDGEVILLE, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that left one person dead and one injured in Milledgeville.

Captain Brad King with the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office says the shooting happened around 10:00 p.m. Monday night. King says an apparent drive by gun fire exchange that happened on Central Avenue in south Baldwin County resulted in one injured and one dead.

One person was standing in front of a home and the other person was in a vehicle when the shooting happened. Deputies were flagged down at a local store where they found a person deceased in the vehicle. The other victim was driven to a hospital for treatment and is in stable condition.

The name of the deceased has not been released.
