MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – The Bibb County school teacher accused of hitting three children with a pointer is now out of jail on a more than $25,000 bond.
Bibb County Sheriff Deputies say 46-year-old Chad Keen turned himself in Tuesday morning and was released a couple of hours later.
On November 8th a parent of a special needs child said her 7-year-old student was hit on the head with a pointer at Heritage Elementary School. She says bumps appeared on the student’s head following that incident.
Deputies say during that investigation they found that Keen hit two more children with a pointer on the same day. One child was 6-years-old and the other was 8-year-old.
Last week the school announced that a teacher and paraprofessional were put on administrative leave following the incidents.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with more information about this investigation to call 478-751-7500, or Macon Regional CrimeStoppers at 1-877-68-CRIME.
