WARNER ROBINS, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – Georgia Bulldog fans invaded Kroger on Watson Blvd on Thursday with one goal–meeting a legend.
There was a line down the aisle of fans waiting on the chance to meet and take pictures with former UGA Head Coach Vince Dooley and get a copy of his books.
Dooley says with such a great year for the school’s football team, getting to meet fans was an even greater experience.
“They’re so loyal, they’re forever hopeful, and then–when it really happens, when you finally win that championship, the celebration is just really amazing. So, it’s just been extra fun. It’s always fun but it’s just been extra fun this year,” said the 40 year veteran coach.
We asked Dooley if his hand was hurting from the 70 plus items he signed Thursday and he said–like his school–he gets stronger in the fourth quarter.
