MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT) – A local group is doing its part to make sure people register to vote. Registered and Ready is a pep rally happening Tuesday night at the Rosa Jackson Center.

You can expect food, music, and other entertainment including Games on Wheelz.  The group will offer assistance to people, including felons, who are looking to cast their ballots in the upcoming election.

One organizer says its important to get young people out to the polls.

“We always depend on the older generation to do the right thing, our church groups, our family and friends, our parents. We know they’re going to do the right thing and vote we have make sure we’re pulling our weight and doing the right thing for us, for our generation to do the right thing for when it’s time for us to take over the reigns,” organizer Ben Hubbard said.

The event at the Rosa Jackson Center is the first of four events the group is looking to host around the county.

Tonight’s event goes until 8. Just make sure to bring your I.D.
