It has been another busy day in the weather center here in Middle Georgia. Today our temperatures once again tied a record by getting to 96 this afternoon here in Macon, continuing our trend of above average temps this month.
We also saw some areas of heavy rain across parts of Middle Georgia, including Macon. There were a few reports of trees down in areas of Houston County as well as several power outages in Middle Georgia.
More storms will be possible Thursday as the cold front moves a little closer. Unfortunately the front will stall to our north and we will see warm temperatures continue through the weekend.
Some of the storms tomorrow could be strong especially in areas shaded in darker green in the photo above. Main threats will be gusty winds and heavy rain, as well as frequent lightning.
By Friday storms will be more isolated and temperatures should stay mainly in the upper 80’s, but there is still a chance we could see a few storms that could lead to delays of some high school football games.
