Shots fired during armed robbery on Radio Drive in Macon

MACON, Georgia (41NBC/WMGT)- The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office needs your help investigating a personal armed robbery of a motor vehicle and aggravated assault. The incident happened Sunday, October 28th, at 9:00 p.m. on the 1100 block of Radio Drive.

Herbert Dudley Sr., 74 year old, was stopping by his son’s house, and as he was getting out of his vehicle, two robbers approached him and attempted to pull him out of his vehicle. Mr. Dudley’s son, 50 year old, Herbert Dudley Jr., heard the commotion and went outside, to see what was happening.

One of the robbers fired a shot towards the front door of the home, striking Herbert Dudley Jr. in the facial area. Mr. Herbert Dudley Jr. was struck with, “bird shot” from a shotgun. Mr. Herbert Dudley Jr. returned fire, towards the shooter.

As the robbers attempted to flee the scene, they hit a tree that was in the front yard. They damaged the vehicle and continued to speed off, towards Napier Avenue.

Herbert Dudley Sr. and Herbert Dudley Jr. were transported to the Navicent Health to receive treatment for their injuries and both have since been released. No one else was injured during this incident.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a tan in color, 2006 Toyota Avalon. The vehicle’s license plate is ASE8139.
