Arrest made in murder of missing Macon man

Deputies make an arrest in connection to the murder of John Lewis Fleming III.

MACON, Georgia (WMGT/41NBC) – Deputies make an arrest in connection to the murder of John Lewis Fleming III.

53-year-old Fleming was reported missing by his girlfriend in September of 2018.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office Investigators along with the U.S. Marshal Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force and Warner Robins Police Department arrested 36-year-old Raymond Leverett of Warner Robins at a home in Warner Robins.

Leverett is charged with the murder of Fleming.

Deputies say after an extensive investigation, evidence was discovered connecting Leverett to Fleming’s disappearance and murder.

Leverett was transported to the Bibb Law Enforcement Center.

He currently has no bond.
