MACON, Georgia. (41NBC/WMGT) – Behind a cold front passing through Middle Georgia on Tuesday we will cool down and dry out through Thanksgiving.
A slow moving cold front is still making its way through Middle Georgia on Tuesday morning. While this front is struggling to produce much rainfall, there have been isolated showers throughout the viewing area that will continue through the morning hours. Once the front finally clears our area this afternoon, the rain and clouds will leave and not return until the weekend.
Next Three Days.
Under an area of high pressure we will stay dry over the next few days until our next weather system makes an appearance on Friday afternoon. Over the next couple of days there will be an abundance of sunshine with mild afternoon temperatures and cool temperatures overnight. Afternoon temperatures will run in the low 60’s while overnight low temperatures will hover in the upper 30’s. The weather for Thanksgiving Day is going to cooperate perfectly! I expect a mostly sunny sky to greet us along with comfortable temperatures.
Our next chance of rain will return on Friday afternoon as another weather system moves out of the Gulf of Mexico and through our area. Rain will be widespread on late Friday and will continue through much of the day on Saturday. If you have shopping plans for Black Friday I would highly recommend getting your shopping done early before the rain gets here! For the most part Sunday looks mostly dry, but another cold front swinging through on Monday brings another chance of rain and cooler air into our area.
