Thanksgiving Day Will Be Picture Perfect

MACON, Georgia. (41NBC/WMGT) – Under a dome of high pressure we will stay mostly sunny and dry over the next two days.

After a cold front moved through yesterday morning we were left with a clear sky that allowed overnight temperatures to dip down into the 30’s. This afternoon temperatures will rebound quickly and top out in the low-to-mid 60’s across much of Middle Georgia. There is zero chance of rain this afternoon so the travel forecast across the southeast for Thanksgiving looks great today!

Tomorrow and Friday.

We could not have asked for a better Thanksgiving for Middle Georgia! For another day we will be without rain. Mild afternoon temperatures will give way to chilly conditions overnight, but the rain will not return until Friday evening.

Extended Forecast.

Rain returns Friday afternoon and will stick around through lunchtime on Saturday. This system moving out of the Gulf of Mexico is going to be in place with a “wedge” of cool air at the surface. This means we can expect a cool and dreary day across Middle Georgia on Friday once the rain begins. I do expect rain totals to stay at less than one inch across Middle Georgia. Once the rain clears out on Saturday we will stay mostly dry until another cold front marches towards Middle Georgia at the start of the next work week.
